Why I love Pinterest for Selling Avon Online! Did you know Pinterest has 72.8 million users and 85% of total Pinterest users are female (source: http://expandedramblings.com/index.php/pinterest-stats/)? So it is a perfect social media website to promote your Avon business since women are our target audience. Watch the video below and check out my quick Avon Tips for Representatives under the video for marketing your Avon business on Pinterest. Feel free to check out my Pinterest page for ideas! Avon Tips to Sell Avon Online – Pinterest

As of May 2015, I have 461 boards, 16,350 pins, and 5,427 followers on Pinterest. The idea with all of the various social media sites is to constantly have activity. The more active you are on your Pinterest page, the higher you will rank in the search engines like Google and Yahoo!

  • If you are setting up a new Pinterest account, I suggest choosing the business account. The business account will give you helpful statistics and insight into your viewer audience. If you already have a personal account and want to keep everything together on one page, you can convert your personal account into a business account.
  • To verify your website on Pinterest, you will need to use a website other than your Avon website. I used my blog to verify my Pinterest account.
  • Use the Pinterest share button on each product page from your Avon eStore to share specific products from your Avon eStore that will take visitors directly to your personal Avon website as opposed to the generic Avon.com.
  • Pin new images from your Social Media Center every campaign. To find your Social Media Center on yourAvon.com, go to your web office – click on Social Media Center either from the pink squares or from the link – go through steps 1 – 5 then share new featured posts and featured videos.
  • Create new boards for different Avon product categories and Avon topics. Don’t just create one board that says “Avon.” That board will never show up in the search engines. Be specific and give your boards titles that people would use to search the Internet.
  • Connect with other Avon Representatives and contacts on Pinterest. There is nothing wrong with making a connection with another Avon Rep on social media. As long as you don’t re-pin their posts and send customers to their website, there is no harm in networking online. Like I said, the more activity you have on social media…the better.
  • Re-pin your own pins. When you pin something like an Avon Glimmerstick, think about the different ways someone might search for eye liner. Someone might look up Avon Eye Liner, Avon Eye Pencil, Avon Glimmersticks, etc. It would fit in all of those categories…right? So make boards for the similar product categories but get more specific as you create additional boards and re-pin your own pins.
  • Follow Avon Insider on Pinterest. They have neat pics on there that you might not find anywhere else. It’s definitely okay to re-pin from Avon. Just make sure you include your website address in the description when you pin it on your boards.
  • Pin new products. Every Avon Campaign, there are new products introduced. This can keep you busy for hours. I don’t want to hear “there’s nothing to pin for Avon.” LOL There are thousands of products on our website to pin on Pinterest boards and new products added every 2 weeks!
  • Keep it simple. Keep your descriptions short and sweet. Be sure to always include your website address and check to make sure your pins are pointing to your own website. Be active and have fun with it!

Basics of Writing a Blog – How to Write an Avon Blog

1. Set up a Blog – start by creating a couple of blog posts on the yourAvon.com blog to get the feel for writing. Then look into a blog outside of the Avon website if you are going to be consistent about blogging like WordPress or Blogger.

2. Pick a Topic – Don’t let writer’s block get the best of you. With Avon, there is always news to share whether it be a product launch, new sales, or the start of the next campaign. This is good news for us because we will never run out of writing material. What is the purpose of your blog post? Decide if you are trying to get more online sales or you want to recruit new team members. Then pick a topic on a product, promotion, the opportunity, or a team / tip post.

3. Do your Research – Once you decide what you want to write about, find out how customers are searching for your topic. I like to use the free Google Keyword Tool or Wordtracker. Type in your keyword to see how many people are searching and how they are searching for your topic. Another way to find out how people are searching for your topic is to do the search yourself on Google on your topic. At the bottom of the first page of results, there will be links listed under “Searches Related to…” Pick 1 – 3 keywords related to your topic to use in your post.

4. Be Informative – When creating blog posts, provide facts and useful information rather than just your opinion. Try to repeat your keyword(s) at least 3 times throughout the article but make sure your sentences are natural to read for readers and not just created for search engine optimization.

5. Share on Social Media – Be sure to get in the habit of sharing your blog post URL on all of your social media profiles after you have published it. The whole purpose of creating the blog is to get more traffic to your website so be proud of your work and share it with the online world!

Sell More Avon – How to Sell More Avon

Sell More Avon

Be Absolutely Awesome with Avon’s President’s Recognition Program!

One of the best parts About Selling Avon is the business is completely flexible. Some top sellers get there by having helpers and some get there by building huge customer bases. When you Sell Avon, you can do fundraisers, home parties, sell door-to-door, Sell Avon Online, set up at events, go tossing, and more. One thing is for sure, at a minimum, your goal should be to reach President’s Club. You will make the most money selling Avon when you reach President’s Club or higher each year. The Avon selling cycle now goes from campaign 1 – campaign 26 each year. The sales levels are based on award sales received during the annual cycle.

Avon Sales Levels for 2015

  • Level 1 – President’s Club: $10,000
  • Level 2 – Honor Society: $20,000
  • Level 3 – Rose Circle: $35,000
  • Level 4 – David H. McConnell Club: $65,000
  • Level 5 – President’s Council: $110,000
  • Level 6 – Inner Circle: $220,000

How much Money can you make Selling Avon?

Please see the 2015 Avon Commission Chart below. Avon’s commission chart is based on a “the more you sell, the more you earn” philosophy. Keep in mind that although online sales are not based on an earnings chart, those award sales from your online business can bump you up into the next earnings level for your traditional order. When you Sell Avon, you collect the total amount due from your customer including the product price from the book, sales tax, and customer order charge. When you submit your order to Avon, the company charges you for the cost of the product and for the sales tax you collected. The amount left over after paying Avon is your profit. To Make Good Money Selling Avon, I would recommend setting a goal to sell at the 40% earnings level every campaign. With a total of $500 in orders, that would give you a profit of $200 each campaign to re-invest in your business or to add to your family’s monthly income.

Avon Selling Quick Tips

  1. Wear Avon products. This may be an obvious tip but I didn’t do it myself for about my first year selling. When you try and use the products yourself, it will be easier to relate to customers and answer customer questions. Don’t go overboard on your spending but make it a goal to try something new at least once a month. If you can’t afford the products yourself, use your Avon website to see how customers have reviewed the product.
  2. Buy samples and / or demos. It is hard to sell beauty without having some sort of samples or demos on hand. Customers want to see, feel, and smell products before they buy. Take advantage of sample packs in the What’s New books. Be sure to buy samples of new skincare or fragrance before they debut in the catalog. The more your customers try, the more they will buy.
  3. Try different methods of Selling Avon. There are plenty of ways to Sell Avon and we are all going to get different results based on our personalities and how we present to customers. Keep trying new ways of selling to figure out which methods will add to your success.
  4. Bring Avon Catalogs with you everywhere you go. Carry 3 – 5 with you each day and ask people you run into if they’d like one. You’d be surprised how many people wish they had a good Avon Lady and will welcome the opportunity to take a book.
  5. Invest in catalogs and do your homework. Look ahead at the campaigns to see where the best sales are, which products are new, and what your hot sellers will be for that specific campaign. The more you know about the book, the better you will be able to sell it to your customers. Use little sticky notes to mark pages of good deals, scented pages, or new products.
  6. Communicate with your customer on their terms. Ask your customer how often they would like you to follow up and their preferred method of contact.
  7. Give good customer service. Avon products are great quality. Most complaints I hear about Avon are about the customer’s last representative…how they never delivered their products on time or they couldn’t get in touch with them, or how they stopped selling. There are plenty of customers out there to service…you just need to get your name out there and give great customer service.
  8. Offer free gifts with big purchases or discounts for first-time customers. Use these offers as door openers to build relationships and gain new customers. Make yourself stand out from other Avon Reps.
  9. Do your best to reach President’s Club. How would you like a guaranteed 40% commission on all full earnings items in your orders for a whole year? Well, that’s what you get when you make President’s Club along with other great benefits. Plan out each Avon Campaign, take advantage of double and triple dollar offers, and look for organizations willing to do fundraisers. Do whatever it takes to make President’s Club…you’ll be glad you did.
  10. If you are a shy Avon Representative, use the Avon Catalog as a tool to open the door to conversations with people you encounter. Try saying something like, “How would you like an Avon Brochure?” with a smile on your face. The more you step out of your comfort zone, the braver you will become in uncomfortable situations.

About the Trainer, Emily Seagren

Emily Seagren has been an Avon Representative since January 2008. She sells at the President’s Council level (over $112,000 annually), owns a Licensed Avon Beauty Center in Rockford, Illinois (Avon Store Perryville), and is an Executive Unit Leader with almost 200 Avon Representative team members in over 30 states nationwide. Emily sold over $46,000 of Avon products online and recruited 183 team members in 2014 as a result of her online marketing efforts. In 2014, her nationwide team of reps, Avon Team Momentum, sold over $513,600 in Avon products.

In 2015, Emily was awarded the prestigious award of Avon Woman of Enterprise. The Avon Woman of Enterprise award is presented to the Avon Representative who not only is leading and growing a successful Avon business, but does so while being a role model for other Representatives through her embodiment of the Avon Values of Belief, Integrity, Respect, Trust and Humility. Among the many North America Avon business owners, Avon selects only one Representative to receive this annual award.

Emily has earned all expense-paid trips to Hawaii, Punta Cana, Cancun, Puerto Rico, Hollywood, San Diego, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, a cruise to the Bahamas, and a cruise to Alaska. In July 2014, Emily had brain surgery to remove a benign tumor. She was especially grateful at this time that she had a built a big Avon business that produces when she cannot work. Her goal is to reach Senior Executive Unit Leader and Inner Circle (over $220,000 annually) by the end of the 2016 cycle. She provides free marketing tips and training to Avon Reps across the country through blog posts and videos listed at www.makeupmarketingonline.com/training and www.makeupmarketers.com.

How to Sell Avon Online Successfully with Blogs

How to Sell Avon Online Successfully with Blogs – Blogs have played a big part in my success in selling Avon online. With almost 225,000 unique visitors to my Makeup Marketing Online website in 2014, my blog was by far the biggest referral source to my personal Avon website. As a result, I sold almost $46,900 in Avon products online and signed up 183 new team members through recruiting online in 2014 alone. If you want to sell Avon online and don’t have a blog yet, I suggest you start one! This page will guide you through my advice for starting your own Avon blog and marketing your posts to sell more Avon online and learn how to recruit new Avon Representatives online. As always, be sure to read your Avon Policies and Procedures guide to make sure your marketing activities are within Avon’s acceptable marketing guidelines.

Emily’s Avon Online Sales Stats 2009 – 2014

Emily’s Avon Online Sales Stats 2009 – 2014 – As you can see, the number of blog posts I created each year had a direct effect on how many website visitors browsed my website and how much revenue I produced in online sales. If you have never blogged before, you may want to start with trying to publish 1 – 2 new blog posts per week depending on how much time you have to dedicate to your online marketing. The longer you write and the more experienced you get at writing blog posts, the easier it will become to come up with topics and create a new post.

Action Step #1: Watch Emily Seagren’s YouTube Video on How to Sell Avon Online – Blogging for Beginners

Basics of Writing a Blog – How to Write an Avon Blog

1. Set up a Blog – start by creating a couple of blog posts on the yourAvon.com blog to get the feel for writing. Then look into a blog outside of the Avon website if you are going to be consistent about blogging like WordPressBlogger, or Weebly. If you’re not sure which blogging service to choose, do some research on the Internet or join some of the Avon Representative Networking Groups on Facebook to ask for advice there.

Try to repeat your keyword(s) at least 3 times throughout the article but make sure your sentences are natural to read for readers to follow and not just created for search engine optimization.

5. Share on Social Media – Be sure to get in the habit of sharing your blog post URL on all of your social media profiles after you have published it. The whole purpose of creating the blog is to get more traffic to your website so be proud of your work and share it with the online world!

Emily’s 5 Different Types of Avon Blog Posts

1. Promotional: free shipping, discount offers, sales, campaigns

2. Products: new products, informative product posts, product reviews

3. Opportunity: the Avon selling opportunity, details on becoming an Avon rep, the benefits of selling Avon, how to sign up, FAQs

4. Avon Representative Tips: online marketing tips, sales tips, recruiting tips, and leadership tips

5. Team: newsletters, recognition, tips, ideas, incentives

Other ideas: industry news, how-to posts, beauty tips, personal reviews – If you are interested in building both the sales and leadership sides of your Avon business (which I highly recommend), try to alternate your posts so that some are geared toward finding new customers and some are focused on recruiting new team members.

How to Promote your Avon Blog Posts for Free on Social Media

How to Promote your Avon Blog Posts for Free on Social Media – With a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, 13 years work experience in marketing, almost 10 years in network marketing experience with 7 of those years being with Avon, I think I finally have a hold on what works for me with online marketing and social media. Keep in mind my techniques aren’t going to work for every Avon Representative so you need to keep trying different approaches and do what works best for you. When you figure out what works for you, it’s important to come up with a marketing routine / schedule that you repeat daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on how much time you have to dedicate online. Be consistent, persistent, and keep going until you make it work if you are passionate about online marketing!

Since the majority of my website visitors come from my blog posts listed in search engines like Google, I know that I want to spend the majority of my time creating new content for my beauty blog. Another way customers and potential recruits come across my blog is through status updates I post on my social media profiles like Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+, and Twitter. Once you have written a successful Avon blog post, you will want to share the link of that post on social media to get traffic to your website. Read the steps below and then watch the video for an online demonstration. How to Promote Avon Blog Posts on Social Media for Free

Emily Seagren’s 6 Marketing Steps for Promoting an Avon Blog Post Online

1. One of the first places I share my blog post is Facebook. I write a couple of sentences to entice followers to want to learn more and then include the link to the blog post. Depending on the type of blog post I have written, I will share the post to my Facebook business page and to my Facebook group. Every once in awhile I will share links on my personal Facebook profile but I like to talk more about Avon in an informal matter on my personal page.

2. I have Facebook automatically connected to Twitter so anything I post on Facebook is automatically “Tweeted.” You can connect your Facebook account to Twitter by going to: http://www.facebook.com/twitter.

3. I have also chosen the option on my WordPress blog to have new posts automatically shared on LinkedIn. Check with your blog provider to see if there are automated options to share new posts.

4. Since Pinterest is my third best source of referrals, I always make sure to pin any images from new blog posts on one or more of my Pinterest boards.

5. Last but not least for sharing on social media, I try to share all new blog post links to my Google+ profile.

6. The last step I take after publishing a blog post is to copy my own article and post it on my Avon blog. In order to get images in my posts on my Avon website, I copy my own articles on WordPress and then paste them into the blog using Internet Explorer.

Action Step #3: Watch Emily Seagren’s YouTube Video on How to Promote your Avon Blog Posts on Social Media for Free

Emily Seagren’s Marketing Tips for Blogging

  • If you are just starting a blog, make it a goal to post at least 1 new article per week.
  • Rotate the types of blog posts you create to attract a larger audience. For example: my blog posts can be about products, recruiting, promotions, recognition, and tips for Avon Representatives.
  • The more content and posts you write, the easier it will become for you to blog. Once it starts getting easier for you to blog, try to post more than 1 blog post per week.
  • Make your articles interesting and informative. Try to include images, answer questions your audience might be asking, and make your articles easy to read and follow.
  • Be sure you have share and like buttons for social media on each post so your readers can pass the information on to their followers.
  • When posting a blog link on social media, use 3 – 5 hashtags that categorize your post. Hashtags work on Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus, Pinterest, and a few other social media sites.
  • It’s always a great idea to have a subscribe option on your blog so that your followers are notified when new content is posted.

Wouldn’t you love to have a negative balance on your Avon account where the company owes you money? One of the best benefits of Selling Avon Online is there are little to no overhead costs so the money you make is mostly profit. Plus you don’t have to mess with taking customers’ orders, payments, or doing the delivery. Remember all of these pros to Selling Avon Online are when your customer chooses direct delivery. I have my delivery preference for online customers set to direct delivery only. Read below and watch the video to hear my top tips for Selling Avon Online.

Sell Avon Online Successfully – Emily’s Top 10 Tips for Selling Online

10. Provide a variety of information on your blog posts and social media status updates to reach a large audience. For example, I like to write blog posts about: Avon products, recruiting, recognition for my team, Avon Representative tips, and promotions. Try to alternate what you write about according to the purpose of the article. I try to alternate blog posts with goals of finding new online customers and recruiting new team members so that I am equally promoting the opportunity for customers to buy and for potential new team members to Sign up to Sell Avon.

9. Mail Avon catalogs to eCustomers. Once you start getting consistent online sales, mail out Avon brochures to your eCustomers. I mail out current catalogs to any customers who have placed an order on my website in the prior 2 months. Check out Campaign Mailer – they provide services for mailing out brochures. Even though Avon offers an optional brochure with every online order, mailing out the brochure yourself will remind your customers to shop with you on your eRep website. Tip: Include a thank you note on the label with a coupon code for them to use on their next visit, your website address, and the valid online shopping dates.

Mail Avon Brochures to Customers

8. Use social media to promote your Avon business. Have you visited the Social Media Center (SMC) on yourAvon.com? Avon is constantly updating the SMC with new information and images to share with your fans and followers. Visit the SMC at least once a campaign to share news about products, the opportunity, and more. You can also use the share buttons on each product page of your eStore to promote new products, sales, or online exclusives. My favorite social media websites to share on are: Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, GooglePlus, and LinkedIn. Also, check out Buffer as a way to automate and simplify your social marketing. This website allows you to schedule automated posts on Facebook pages, Facebook groups you moderate, and more so you can spend your time on revenue-generating tasks like marketing your business, increasing Avon sales, and growing your team instead of keeping “busy” on social media and not getting much accomplished.

Avon Social Media Share Buttons

7. Write blog posts to draw traffic to your website from search engines. If you aren’t familiar with the term “blog,” look it up on Google. There are all kinds of great articles out there on how to start a blog and what blogging is all about. I like to write blogs on different topics and then use social media to promote my blog. All of my hyperlinks and calls-to-action point visitors to my Avon eStore so they can buy online or Sign up to Sell Avon on my team. For a strong blog post, be sure to have plenty of content, use images, insert hyperlinks on important “keyword” phrases, use headers, and always include calls-to-action.

6. Keep up with current Avon free shipping and coupon codes. Some places to find current codes are: RetailMeNot, your web office in the email center, your eStore, and sometimes under incentives or campaign tools on yourAvon.com. Try signing up as your own customer by creating a profile on your eStore or use the eNewsletter widget to enter your email address and be notified of the latest and greatest Avon promotions. When I want to promote an Avon coupon code, I will write a blog post about it which automatically posts to LinkedIn and then share the link of the blog post on my Facebook page (which automatically posts to Twitter), my Facebook group, Pinterest, and GooglePlus. You can also tell your customers to go to Ebates before they do their shopping on your Avon website to get cash back on their purchase. Make sure they choose you as their representative before checking out. Tip: Always provide the following 4 pieces of information in your Avon coupon code posts: the offer, the code, the expiration, and your website.

Avon Coupon Code

5. Customize your Avon website. Keep the content on your eStore fresh and constantly updating. I do this through sharing blog posts on my eStore, having the Twitter app connected, and updating the main window with a custom message including the current Avon brochure, the online shopping dates, a coupon code, and How to Sign up to Sell Avon Online.

How to Post the Avon Brochure

4. Turn on your automated email program under personalization tools in your web office. I prefer to have the options for both campaign and promotional offers turned on in my email preferences. Although my customers receive a lot of emails, they always have the option to unsubscribe. For those who opt in for the emails, they are receiving a constant reminder to shop for Avon online on my website. I truly feel the benefits of having the automated email program turned on far outweigh the drawbacks. Plus, I hardly ever have anyone complain about getting too many emails and if they do…I happily help them unsubscribe from the program.

3. Whether you are talking to people daily about your Avon business or connecting with others through online marketing, be sure to have a way to collect their contact information. In person, I like to do monthly gift bundle drawings and use the Avon survey card to collect my customers’ contact information. I then keep record of my customers’ addresses for sending out marketing materials and brochures and enter those with an email address in my web office. To collect data from your online visitors, be sure to have the eNewsletter sign up widget and Believe in your Business widget displayed on the front page of your eStore.

2. Use a brightly colored label on the front of your Avon brochure encouraging online orders. With every Avon catalog I hand out, I like to offer 3 opportunities: 1) to buy from me face-to-face, 2) to shop on my website, and 3) to Become an Avon Representative on my team. To promote online orders, I include my contact information, my Avon website URL, and a message about free shipping and a coupon code on the label. I promote free shipping on all orders of $35 or more plus 20% off online orders of $50 or more using code: WELCOME or THANKYOU20. Both of these codes are valid for every customer one time each. Check your email center in your web office to make sure these codes are still valid.

1. Track your performance. I like to use my past years, months, and campaigns’ performance to track sales, online sales, recruiting, and leadership numbers to make sure I’m always improving upon my own results. For tracking website traffic, you can use Google Analytics and / or StatCounter on your Avon website. If you use an external blogging service like WordPress, there are also statistics to track for your blog. Although website traffic gives you an idea of what’s working and what isn’t as far as marketing tactics, the most important numbers to track are completed online sales and number of online appointments. When you have a peak in website traffic, online sales, or new online appointments, look back to see what you did differently so that you can repeat the actions that are producing favorable results.

How to Post Avon Campaign 13 Brochure on your Website

How do you post the current Avon catalog on your website? This is probably the most frequent question I get asked from Avon Representatives on how to sell Avon online. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to post Avon Campaign 13 2015 on your website.

If you have already followed the instructions on how to add the Avon brochure image to your website from me before, follow set A. instructions on how to update the image. If this is your first time adding the brochure image to your Avon website, follow set B. instructions. Please note: if you have already customized the main window widget on your website with a personal message but would like to try adding the current catalog image, you may want to save a copy of what you have there before making any changes so you have a back-up version to revert to in case you cannot get this to work.
Avon Key Campaign Dates

If you are going to put an image of the current brochure on your website, make sure you are able to commit your time to updating the image every time your website switches over to a new campaign (every other week). The online catalog on your eStore will automatically update but you will need to update the image on the home page at the start of every campaign. To find the schedule when your website changes over, go to yourAvon.com – my account – Key Campaign Dates. Ex: I am RPS 6 and my regular order is due every other Wednesday and my website switches over to the new campaign 2 days later (on Friday). I would let customers know they can shop Avon Campaign 13 2015 online 5/29 (Friday) – 6/11 (Thursday). My website will switch over to Avon Campaign 14 2015 on June 12th so I would let customers know they can shop Avon Campaign 14 2015 online 6/12 (Friday) – 6/25 (Thursday).
